Why is everyone wearing silver????? I've been seeing EVERYONE on the streets wearing silver, especially the younger ones, and perhaps one person in 50 is wearing gold. What's the deal with silver?? I really don't like it but wearing gold makes me feel old (even tho i'm 27) and out of place.
My theory is that there are two reasons for the preference for silver: first, it is the more affordable option if purchasing precious metals. In other words, you can have jewelry with better finishing and long-lasting, and also bolder. Those who were wearing gold tended to opt for dainty pieces.
Second reason: There's something about New York's colors that invites people to wear cooler and less vibrant tones, from clothes to jewelry.
